Yacht Charter Planning Questions
Planning a charter starts with your date, guest count, preferred departure area, and the experience you want. These answers help you prepare; your written booking agreement confirms the arrangements for the selected vessel.
Choosing the Yacht and Itinerary
How do I choose the right yacht?
Tell us how many guests are joining, whether you want a day trip or overnight stay, and what you want to do aboard. We can help compare suitable vessels by layout, space, amenities, and intended use. Availability varies; not every vessel type or feature is available for every date.
How long is a charter?
A half-day charter is up to four hours and a full-day charter is up to eight hours. Overnight or multi-day plans are discussed separately. Confirm your booked departure and return times before the charter.
Can you help customize our itinerary?
Yes. Tell us your preferences for sightseeing, time at anchor, swimming, dining, or activities. We help shape a suitable plan, while the captain determines appropriate routes and stops based on the yacht and conditions.
Can we see the yacht before booking?
Ask whether a viewing can be arranged for the vessel you are considering. Access depends on its schedule and location; a visit must be confirmed in advance.
How many guests can join?
Capacity depends on the particular vessel and the arrangement under which it operates. Share your total group size, including children, so we can identify suitable options. Do not assume a single passenger limit applies to every charter.
Departures and Transportation
Where do Miami charters depart?
Our standard Miami pickup is Miami Beach Marina, 300 Alton Road, Miami Beach, FL 33139. The actual departure point is confirmed for your booking. Other locations depend on the yacht and arrangements available.
Can transportation or another pickup location be arranged?
Ask about available options before booking. Transportation, vessel relocation, and alternative boarding points must be confirmed and may involve additional arrangements or charges. Complimentary transport is not assumed.
Do we need to visit an office to book?
Contact the charter team to arrange booking details and documentation. We will explain what is needed for your reservation and boarding, including any required identification.
Crew, Food and Activities
Is a captain or other crew included?
Confirm the captain and crew arrangements for the specific yacht before booking. Your agreement identifies what is included and how any additional staffing is arranged. Do not assume every yacht includes the same crew.
Can we arrange a chef or catering?
Ask about a private chef, catering, or other food arrangements appropriate for the yacht and group. Availability, staffing, menu choices, and charges are confirmed for the booking.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Discuss what you want to bring with the team before boarding. The selected yacht’s rules, available storage, and preparation arrangements determine what is suitable.
Are watersports included?
Not automatically. Equipment and activities vary by yacht and provider. Ask about snorkeling, kayaking, personal watercraft, or other options in advance, and confirm what is available and included.
Can the crew supervise our children?
Plan for responsible adult supervision of children throughout the outing. Do not assume the captain or crew provides childcare. Tell us your group’s needs in advance so you can confirm suitable arrangements.
Booking Terms and Practical Questions
When is payment due?
Payment schedules and accepted payment methods are confirmed during booking and stated in your agreement. Ask the team about any outstanding balance and identification required before boarding.
What happens if we cancel or the weather changes?
Cancellation, rescheduling, weather decisions, refunds, and any charges are governed by the agreement for your booking. Ask for these terms before paying so you understand the options that apply.
What happens if the yacht becomes unavailable?
Ask the team about the arrangements and terms that apply to your reservation. Replacement yachts, refunds, and other options depend on the agreement and availability; an automatic upgrade is not promised.
What should we know about insurance?
Ask the team about coverage and terms relevant to your chosen charter. Vessel and company policies should not be assumed to cover every guest’s personal risks or travel expenses. Discuss any additional coverage you need with an appropriate provider.
Are smoking, pets or drugs permitted?
Confirm the yacht’s smoking and pet rules before booking. Follow the agreement, onboard rules, and applicable law. Illegal drugs are not permitted aboard.
Can we charter without a captain?
Ask the team which charter arrangements are available for the selected yacht. Do not assume the same operating arrangement applies to every vessel.
Should we tip the crew?
Ask how gratuities are handled for your specific booking, including whether any amount is already included or charged separately. Follow the terms agreed for the charter and your preference where gratuity is discretionary.
What documents do we need for a Bahamas trip?
International trips require advance travel and entry planning. Confirm current requirements for each guest’s nationality, itinerary, and mode of travel, as well as the yacht’s arrangements, before booking.
How do we contact the charter team?
Call 305-358-0745 or email info@theadvantaged.com. Send your preferred date, guest count, departure area, and any yacht or activity preferences.
