Get Ready: The Annual Columbus Day Regatta is Approaching–UPDATE 10/2/2017

UPDATE AS OF 10/2/2017:

Due to Hurricane Irma, the Annual Columbus Day Regatta race has been canceled. CDR will refund any paid entry fees to all those who prepaid for the event. However, to maintain the Columbus Day Regatta spirit, a shorter race will take place on Saturday, October 7. Many people will still be coming in from out of town to celebrate the weekend on the water.

For the “Columbus Day One Day Race,” the entry fee will be $25.00. This will include commemorative medals, trophies and an open bar at SALM. While we are saddened that this year’s event will not proceed as planned, we hope you will continue to join us in celebrating the Columbus Day Regatta.

———————————

Every year on Columbus Day weekend is the Annual Columbus Day Regatta. Coordinated by a committee of volunteers and supported financially by sponsors and local yacht clubs, both locals and visitors alike come together to race their boats. However, it is not just the races that people gather together for. The event becomes a massive party that collects over in Elliot Key. When not racing, the weekend is jam-packed full of music, drinking, eating, and dancing. It is truly one of the most fun weekends in the Miami area.

The Annual Columbus Day Regatta: Event Details

The Skippers Meeting will occur on Friday, October 6. Do not forget to pick up your packet on either Thursday, October 5 or Friday, October 6. There will be a CDR Conquistador Dinner and Dance Party on Saturday, October 7. For the lucky winners, the Awards Party will take place the following weekend on Saturday, October 14.
